2 Month Doctor's Visit
We had a busy day today...after having our pictures taken we had to go to Addison's 2 month check up. As of today Addison is 21" long and weighs 8 lbs 1 oz!!! She has gained a little over a pound since last week and is doing great. The doctor says she looks good and is very happy with her weight gain. We are going to follow up in one month to make sure that she continues to gain the way that she should. She had her shots today, which she did very well with. She cried quite a bit but settled down as soon as Mom picked her up. She is now drinking about 5 oz of a mix of breast milk and formula about every 3 hours, sometimes sooner than that. Addison is also doing really well sleeping in her crib. She has been going to bed around 11:oo p.m. and sleeping until about 5:00 a.m. which Mom and Dad are very happy with. I can't believe 2 months have gone by so quickly and how fast she is growing.

2 Months Old!
Today Addison is 2 months old, I can't believe it! Time has gone by so fast! She is doing much better than the beginning of the week. The antibiotics have helped and she is back to her normal self. Thanks to all of you who have showed concern and sent us well wishes.
This week we have been putting Addison to sleep in her crib, for the past 8 weeks either Sean or I have been sleeping on the couch with her lying on our chest. We decided that we need to both sleep in our own bed and she needs to get used to sleeping in her room. We figured it was a great week seeing that Mom is on spring break and can get up with her throughout the night. Each night has been pretty tough, we haven't gotten a lot of sleep and we are hoping that it gets better. Last night at about 3 a.m. she still was crying about every 5 minutes, and I went in and she would get a big grin across her face, she thought it was time to play, lol. Well I think about 3:30 or 4:00 we finally got to sleep and she stayed asleep until 6:30. It's not a lot of sleep but much better than nothing.
We will write more after her 2 month check up next week. But here are some pictures we have taken of her over the past couple of days, she is getting so big.

Pneumonia
Well, Addison was still not feeling well yesterday and spiked a temperature of 102.0, I gave her some tylenol and took her temp again about an hour later and it only went down to 101.4. I called her doctor and was told to take her back to the emergency room seeing that they wouldn't be able to do much for her in the office. We went to the ER and had another chest xray and the doctor had told us that it was pneumonia. They did some blood work and gave her a shot of rocephin which is a strong antibiotic and told us to follow up with her pediatrician today. So off we went to the doctors this a.m. and they gave her a prescription for amoxicillin, so hopefully she will be back to normal in the next couple of days. On a good note, Addison weighs 7 pounds now and the doctor is very happy with her weight gain since last Thursday, she gained 6 ounces in only 5 days! Especially having the fever 6 ounces is a lot. Well, lets hope for a speedy recovery! She actually has been a very good girl even though she is feeling so crumby.

Weight check and ER visit
It has been a crazy week for us. Addison came down with a cold about a week and a half ago, just a runny nose and some head congestion. On Sunday she started with a cough. She has been a little cranky but doing ok. On Thursday a.m. I called the on-call doctor around 5:00 a.m. because Addison had a temperature of 101.9, I explained her symptoms and they suggested Sean and I bring her to the ER. Once we got to the emergency room, the nurse took her vitals and her temp was down to 100.8, then the nurse explained to us that they were going to run a bunch of tests and that they could also decide to admit her because she is so young. Once we saw the doctor, he ordered blood work, chest xray, urine culture and a nasal swab to test for a virus. Poor Addison, they had to stick her 3 times to get blood for all the tests and also a catheder to get the urine. She did so well, a little tears but quickly quieted down once she was held by me or Sean. All of the tests came back negative so they let us take her home and told us to give her some tylenol if she needed it for the fever.
We had a doctor's appointment that day anyways for her weight check so we discussed everything with her pediatrician and she agreed with what the ER doc had told us. As for her weight, Sean and I were very pleased when they told us she had gained 10 oz since her last visit two weeks ago! The Doctor was happy that she had gained weight after being sick, but would still like her to gain more. So we are now giving her a little more at each feeding and increased the amount of formula that we are giving her. She has her two month check up on the 19th, so we will see if she is on the charts yet for her weight.
The weather was gorgeous today, I can't believe that it was just about 60 degrees! When I got home from doing some school stuff, I got Addison all bundled up and went for a nice walk. It was great to get outside, and I think the fresh air did us both some good!
We are looking forward to her feeling better, hopefully within the next day or two. She is still a little stuffy and has a cough but the fever is gone and she is happy as can be (most of the time). I am sure this will be one of many colds she will get while she is little.

First Blog
Well, this is our first blog. Addison was born on January 13th, 2009 at 12:02 p.m. She weighed 5 lbs 12 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. She is now 7 weeks old and is such an amazing little girl. She is a wiggly little girl, on her fourth day home she managed to wiggle her way out of her sleep positioner in her crib. At 5 weeks she was able to roll from her belly to her back, and just last week she began to smile. She has been doing really well and the doctor at her last check up said she was very healthy. She is still a peanut, at her appointment 2 weeks ago she was still only 6 lbs 0 oz. The doctor suggested we start her with some formula to help her gain weight. So we have been mixing 1/2 breast milk and 1/2 formula and she seems to be much more satisfied. We have a weight check on Thursday and hopefully she has gained. I will post some pictures later. We are almost ready for our next feeding. xoxo
