Jaidyn Grace Waters

So... I realized that I haven't posted anything since Addison's first birthday. It's been about 5 months and so much has happened since then.
Jaidyn Grace was born on March 31st at 4:48 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. It was a longer labor than with Addison. My contractions started the day before around 2:00 in the afternoon and by 4:30 we were at the hospital. My mother came to the house to watch Addison. That day we had some heavy rains and Sean had to go over everything with my mother on how to keep the basement dry. We have our bedroom, Addison's room and the nursery down there and the week before that had just replaced carpets due to the flooding. At this point I was getting anxious to get to the hospital and thought Sean was crazy for going over all this stuff with my mother, I thought he was just being overly cautious. Well, at about 7:30 or so that night, mom said that she couldn't keep up with the water coming in and watching Addison at the same time so Sean had to call in reinforcements. His brother-in-law Jeff headed to the house to help out my mother. Sean had called our neighbor to go over and help while she was waiting for Jeff to get there. There was so much water, that the 3 of them couldn't keep up. Our new carpets were soaking wet and there was nothing we could do about it. Jeff had to go home to get up for work so my neighbor called in sick to his 3rd shift job to help out my mom thank goodness. They both got to go to sleep at about 4:00 a.m.
Well...back to my labor. The pain got pretty intense and there were quite a few moments where I would have loved an epidural. I didn't have anything with Addison but this labor lasted 15 hours compared to Addison's which was only 4 hours. The only relief I got was taking nice warm showers and a little medication to help me relax between contractions, which was a life saver. I did wake up every 3 minutes or so for the contraction but would then fall asleep as soon as it was over and then I would wake for the next one. After a while of this at about 4:00 a.m. I asked for my water to be broken. Now looking back I should have asked for it sooner seeing that Jaidyn was born only 48 minutes later and only having to push with 3 contractions. The umbilical cord was tightly wrapped around her neck and they had to cut it before the delivery was over. When she came out she was not crying and they carried her across the room limp. At that point I was very concerned but (what seemed like forever) a few seconds later she was crying and all of her vitals were excellent! She was a healthy baby girl.
By the time Sean and I got to nap, we had been up for over 24 hours and we had a 1 hour nap before Sean had to go home to relieve my mother and clean up the mess from the flooding. Jaidyn and I stayed at the hospital for 2 days while Daddy took care of Addison. Addison came to the hospital later that day and got to meet her little sister. She did great with her and had fun running up and down the hallways.
Fast forward 2 months.... Jaidyn is at a healthy weight of 10 pounds 11 ounces and is now 23 1/2 inches long. She is growing so fast and some of her clothes are a 6 month size. She is smiling and cooing so much. She loves to watch Addison play, when ever she is cranky we turn her towards her sister and it stops. Addison has been great with her, she does have her moments of trying to get our attention when we are feeding or playing with Jaidyn. We definitely have our hands full but we love every moment of it.
I went back to work a couple of weeks ago, it is going well. My mother is still coming up to watch the girls while I work. It saves us so much in child care and I love the bond that my Mom has with the two girls.
Addison is now trying to say some words... She can say "Mama", "Dada", "Tash" for Tasha (our cat), "Daidyn" for Jaidyn, "Mammy" for Grammie, "Bampa" for Grampa, "Papa", "Nana", "Bub" for tub, and "Baba" for baby. She knows what several animals "say" in her own way of course. She knows all of her letters by looking at them, we can tell her which one to get or point to and she will. She is such a smart little girl! We are so proud of her.
That is all for now, please enjoy the pictures!

Addison's 1st Birthday Celebrations!

Addison has had a couple of 1st birthday celebrations! We celebrated with the Price family at Seth and Amy's house last weekend and then this weekend with Sean's family. I think Addison liked having 2 birthday parties so she could have cake and icecream twice :o) She is not like any typical kid that would just dive into the cake, she was more dainty! She would just stick in a finger or two and lick the cake and frosting off of her fingers. That makes Daddy very happy seeing that he doesn't like messy kids, ha ha ha.

Addison's First Christmas!

Addison had a wonderful first Christmas! She had fun opening gifts and playing with all her new toys. We spent time with Sean's family a couple of weeks before Christmas while his sister from Florida was up, as well as the day after Christmas. We spent Christmas Day at my brother and Amy's new house with the Price family. Addison was spoiled this Christmas by Santa and both families. She loved her xylophone and Winnie the Pooh book that Santa had brought her as well as her new rocking horse. It's a busy time of year, but we love spending time with family.
